Massive Turnout at Yacht Club

Last Sunday CLYC Killowen hosted the RYA sponsored Push The Boat Out Open Day. People came from far and wide, and took to the water in dinghies, cruisers, RIBs, motorboats, boards and canoes. All ages were represented, from 3 to quite old.

The weather was kind – only a couple of showers in between the sunny periods, and plenty of wind. Three cruisers took up to six passengers out for a sail, and one in particular was dishing out hot curry!

Many visitors expressed an interest in undertaking sailing courses and even in joining the club! Most importantly, though, everybody had a whale of a day. It’s still not too late to contact the Club at info@clyc.info or 028 4173 8604, or even to call down to the Club and meet some sailors and ask them about learning to sail.
