Wednesday and Saturday Racing Underway at CLYC


The first of the dinghy mid-week races were held on Wednesday evening, and it was a beautiful evening, with sunshine and a glorious sunset.

In the A-Fleet, Tim Gibbons won and Jim Linton was second. In the B-Fleet, Brian McConville was first, Bill Donnelly was second and Colleen Connolly was third.

Meanwhile on Saturday, the sunny weather heralded the first of the cruiser races, and it was a good turn out with 5 boats racing 3 races in brisk easterly sea-breezes.

Results in the three races (the fewer points, the better):

Tim Gibbons, Warrior – 1, 3 and 2 points

Michael O’Hare, Aurora – 3, 1 and 4.5 points

Mick McCann, Invincible – 2, 4 and 3 points

Brian McCann, Gannet – 4, 2 and 4.5 points

Don Campbell, Thetis – 6, 5 and 1 points

The general public are invited to CLYC Killowen on Sunday next, 14th May from 10:30 am to 4:00 pm, to try some water-based fun on dinghies, cruisers, motor boats, paddle boards, canoes and anything else that floats. It’s the RYA sponsored Push the Boat Out Open Day which was a great success last year. It’s for ALL AGES, It’s FUN and It’s FREE!!
