Sunday 4th April 2021
Over the past number of weeks, the CLYC Committee and COVID-19 Team have been busy formulating a plan to enable us to begin getting back on the water as Government guidance permits.
Based on on the current Guidelines and RYA advice, there are many requirements that the committee have been working to facilitate in order to make our return as safe as possible for all of our members, and in a similar way as we did last year. As before, we will be recommencing sailing activity on a phased basis and we ask for your patience as we work to get you all back on the water in the safest way possible. As with last year, there are changes to the way we use our club facilities, how we approach the rigging of our boats, launching and even protocol while on the water. There are many procedures to put in place to protect us all and we appreciate your co-operation.
On Sunday 18th April, it is our intention to commence Dinghy Sail Training for members. This will be for over 18s initially and with participation restricted to 10 people. Registration will open at 9am on Thursday 15th April via our website: www.clyc.info
Separate details will be issued in relation to our plan to commence Dinghy Sail Training for under 18s on a Saturday. Participation for this will also be restricted initially.
As Government guidelines evolve over the weeks and months ahead we will continue to review our plans on a weekly basis, with a view to restarting Cruiser activity, as well as increasing participation for our Dinghy activity when it is suitable and safe to do so. We appreciate that everyone is eager to get back on the water, but we would ask that you bare with us as we continue to formulate an approach that is intended to keep you and your family as safe as possible.
